The presentation focuses on two abnormal wave events such as oceanic rogue waves and head-on collision of very steep solitary waves. A particular attention will be paid on the effect of wind on the properties of rogue waves. The second aspect concerns a new phenomenon observed during the frontal collision of two similar solitary waves corresponding to the occurrence of a residual falling jet.
