I review the dynamical behaviour of different laser systems like laser with modulated parameters, laser with saturable absorber, laser with injected signal both from the experimental and theoretical point of view. I analyse the generation of extreme events in such kind of systems and I describe the particularities such phenomena have in strictly deterministic systems.
