We investigate the propagation of a microwaves in a correlated random potentials. The set-up is approximately two dimensional leading still to a seperation of the perpendicular modes which feel a potential due to the variation of heights. Depending on the scattering strength of the potential we find freak events (s-wave scatterer) or branching structures (weak scattering) where we could verify a -2/3 scaling law of the scintillation index.
